The story

Grapesyard Organization (Grapes) is Kenyan Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1999. It started with a school (Grapesyard Education Centre) and has expanded to other community programmes to cater for orphans and vulnerable children children (OVC) and the marginalized groups living in informal settlements and economically challenged communities. One such informal settlement is Korogocho slums in Nairobi.

The organization is preoccupied with child protection, education, nutrition, personal growth and self-attainment.It is run by board of Directors, one Executive Director and three full time Managers.

Mission:

To facilitate, provide and promote access to education, health and healthcare services to children in the informal settlements and economically challenged communities.

Grapesyard is offering excellent partnership opportunity to invest in promoting quality basic education for orphans and vulnerable of Korogocho slums through improvement of learning infrastructure in its popular community school in Korogocho slums.

The school has traditionally posted good examination results using inadequate infrastructure but has managed to send many children to national and top county secondary schools through impressive examination. Among its alumni is a medical doctor, engineers, graduate business administrators and teachers among others, thereby up lighting families and communities out of extreme poverty through education for their children.

The school seek to complete one story classrooms building to further its performance exploits for slum children. The remaining works are plastering, painting, fixing guard rails and windows.The key activities are:
